An AWWA Resilient Seated Gate Valve is a heavy-duty isolation valve designed according to the standards set by the American Water Works Association (AWWA), specifically the C509 or C515 specifications. These valves are the industry standard for North American water distribution, fire protection, and wastewater systems.
The "resilient seat" design replaces the older metal-to-metal contact with a rubber-encapsulated wedge, providing a high-performance seal and a zero-leakage guarantee.

AWWA C509: Covers resilient-seated gate valves with a Cast Iron or Ductile Iron body (standard wall thickness).
AWWA C515: Covers Reduced Wall Ductile Iron resilient-seated gate valves. This is the more modern, lightweight, yet high-strength standard widely used today.
UL/FM Approval: Many AWWA valves are also UL Listed and FM Approved, making them suitable for fire protection main headers and hydrant systems.
