Localization of Nuclear-Grade Valves

With the Atomic Energy Law taking effect in January 2026, China has reached a milestone in domesticating the most complex valve technologies.

• Hualong One Integration: CNNC Sufa and Neway Valve have successfully localized the production of main steam isolation valves for the Hualong One (third-generation) reactors. These valves are designed to withstand earthquakes and extreme radiation while maintaining a zero-leak profile for a 60-year service life.

• High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactors (HTGR): Technical breakthroughs have been made in valves that can handle high-temperature helium and molten salt, essential for China's next-gen green energy projects.
