1.4408 Forged steel female/female Y-strainer

A 1.4408 forged steel female/female Y-strainer is a compact filtration device designed to remove solid debris from pipelines, protecting downstream equipment. The 1.4408 material (cast equivalent to AISI 316/CF8M) is a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel offering excellent corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides and acidic media . As a Y-strainer, it features a Y-shaped body that allows debris collection in the angled screen chamber, enabling continuous flow during filtration . The female/female threaded connections (BSP or NPT) facilitate easy inline installation. A forged steel construction provides superior strength compared to cast alternatives, making it suitable for high-pressure applications . These strainers are widely used in water, steam, compressed air, and chemical processing systems, with the blow-off cap enabling convenient debris removal without pipeline disassembly .
