1. Key Components & Design
The Swing Disc: A robust metal plate attached to a hinge pin. It opens automatically with fluid pressure and closes by gravity (and backpressure) when the flow stops.
Metal Seating: The sealing surfaces of both the body and the disc are made of metal (typically brass, bronze, or stainless steel). This allows the valve to handle higher temperatures and abrasive fluids that would destroy a rubber-seated valve.
Full Bore: When fully open, the disc swings out of the way, providing a straight-through flow path with minimal pressure drop.
