Centric lug butterfly valves are a type of quarter-turn valve commonly used for on/off or throttling service in piping systems. They feature a disc mounted on a central shaft (concentric design) and lugs—protruding ears with bolt holes—cast or machined into the valve body. These lugs allow the valve to be installed between two pipe flanges using separate sets of bolts for each flange, enabling easy removal of downstream piping without disturbing the upstream side.
