BSP Screwed Ball check Valve

A BSP Screwed Ball Check Valve is a compact, non-return valve designed for smaller piping systems where space is limited and the media contains solids or viscous materials. It features internal (female) threads—specifically BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads—allowing it to be screwed directly onto threaded pipes without the need for flanges.

Like its larger flanged counterparts, it utilizes a moving ball to prevent backflow, making it the preferred choice for small-scale wastewater and pumping applications.

1. Design & Operation
The Ball: Inside the valve is a weighted ball, usually made of aluminum or steel and fully encapsulated in NBR or EPDM rubber.

The Flow: When fluid moves forward, the pressure pushes the ball up into a side chamber, clearing the path. Because the ball moves out of the way, the valve offers a Full Bore flow with minimal resistance.

The Seal: When the pump stops, gravity and backflow return the ball to the seat, creating a leak-proof seal.
