Rubber Seated Flapper Check Valve

A Rubber Seated Flapper Check Valve (also known as a Resilient Seated Swing Check Valve) is a high-performance non-return valve designed for water, wastewater, and sewage applications. Its defining feature is a flexible, rubber-encapsulated "flapper" or disc that is hinged at the top of the valve body.

Unlike traditional metal-seated valves, the flapper in this design provides a soft, "bubble-tight" seal, making it highly effective for preventing backflow in systems containing small solids or debris.

Design & OperationThe valve consists of a simple, robust body with a single moving part: the Resilient Flapper.The Flapper: Typically made of a steel or ductile iron core that is fully vulcanized with high-grade rubber (EPDM or NBR).Angle Seat Design: Many models feature a 35° - to 45° angled seat, which reduces the travel distance of the flapper. This allows for faster closing and significantly reduces the risk of "slamming" or water hammer.Unobstructed Flow: When open, the flapper swings completely out of the flow stream, providing a full-bore path that allows solids to pass without snagging.
