The ASME B16.5 A105 Slip-On (SO) flange is the workhorse of carbon steel piping systems. Designed for Class 300 pressure ratings, it is forged from high-quality carbon steel for ambient and higher-temperature service. Unlike weld neck versions, this flange slides over the pipe and is secured with two fillet welds—one internal and one external. This design offers lower installation costs and easier alignment, making it ideal for non-critical, moderate-pressure applications in refineries and utility lines.
